New Delhi, Sept. 2 -- India's manufacturing sector expanded in August, but at its slowest pace in five years, as growth in output and new orders weakened amid softer demand conditions, according to the HSBC India Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) data released by S&P Global on Tuesday. The seasonally adjusted HSBC India Manufacturing PMI fell to 52.8 in August from 53.5 in July, marking its third consecutive monthly decline and slipping below its long-run average of 54.2.
