Manu's bronze, Rashmika's gold make India's day
New Delhi, Aug. 20 -- Manu Bhaker has an amazing knack for finishing on the podium. The double Paris Olympics medallist has the hunger to win medals. The bigger the competition, the stronger she comes out. On Tuesday, she won bronze at the Asian Shooting Championships in Kazakhstan, proving her class in a tough field.
Manu finished third in qualification with a score of 583, behind Korean Olympic champion Oh Ye-Jin (585), who was competing for ranking points only, and China's Yao Qianxun (584). No other Indian qualified. Suruchi Phogat Singh, who has been in irresistible form, had a rather subdued qualification, finishing 12th with a score of 577.
