Manipur couple linked to 6 Nagas' killing held
IMPHAL, July 11 -- A joint team of Manipur Police, the National Investigation Agency (NIA), and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on Friday arrested a couple for their alleged involvement in the killing of six Nagas in ethnic violence-hit northeastern state.
In a post on X, Manipur Police said they launched a "precise operation" to apprehend Wathan Pradip (42) and his wife Ayingbi alias Mangaih (44), allegedly involved in killings on May 13 in Kuki-dominated Leilon Vaiphei village, based on "credible inputs". The accused are residents of Leilon Vaiphei village.
The police added that further necessary search and seizure procedures were carried out, along with necessary legal formalities.
