Man drowns in pool at school in Najafgarh
New Delhi, July 10 -- A 26-year-old man allegedly drowned in the swimming pool of a private school in southwest Delhi's Najafgarh while swimming with friends on Wednesday evening, police said on Thursday.
Police have registered a case of causing death by negligence under Section 106 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against unknown persons at the Najafgarh police station. Investigators are probing the sequence of events that led to the drowning and whether there was any negligence on the part of the pool's administration.
Deputy commissioner of police (Dwarka) Kushal Pal Singh said the deceased, identified as Rahul Rai alias Rahul Roy, 26, from Jharoda village in southwest Delhi, worked for a private company that packs cardboard cartons....
