Panchkula, April 2 -- The anti-immigration fraud unit of Panchkula police have arrested a man, along with his brother, for allegedly impersonating a Haryana deputy superintendent of police (DSP) and duping a man of lakhs of rupees on the pretext of arranging a government tender.
The accused has been identified as Vipul Goyal while his brother is Tarun Goyal. Police have also recovered part of the defrauded amount and a fake DSP uniform used in the crime.
According to police, a complaint was received from Yogesh, a resident of Panipat. As per the complaint, in 2014, Tarun introduced his brother Vipul to Yogesh, claiming that Vipul had secured the post of DSP. To gain trust, Vipul frequently met the victim wearing a police uniform.
