New Delhi, Sept. 24 -- The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested alleged kingpin Abhishek Kumar in connection with its probe into the Rs.6,000 crore Mahadev online betting racket after he arrived from Dubai, the agency said on Thursday.

Kumar is a close aide of Mahadev promoter Saurabh Chandrakar and was on the run for a very long time. He allegedly played an active role in "operating online betting and gambling activities under Mahadev Book, coordinating betting panels, collecting funds and acquiring immovable assets in Dubai using proceeds allegedly generated from betting and gambling," a CBI spokesperson said in a statement.
