Madhya Pradesh energy investments to create over 15,000 jobs, says Chief Minister Mohan Yadav
India, Aug. 13 -- Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said on Wednesday that investments of more than Rs.43,000 crore by Torrent Group in the state's energy projects would help meet rising power demand and create over 15,000 jobs and support wider industrial growth.
Yadav made the remarks after meeting Torrent Group and Torrent Power chairman Samir Mehta in Ahmedabad on August 12. Senior state officials were present.
The group is developing a 1,600 MW ultra-supercritical thermal power project in Anuppur district at an investment of about Rs.22,000 crore. The project is expected to create around 7,000 jobs. A power purchase agreement with Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company was signed on January 27, 2026.
