Ludhiana, Sept. 20 -- The body of an unidentified woman, believed to be around 25 years old, was found in a vacant plot in an abandoned colony near Lalton Bus Stand on Pakhowal Road on Saturday morning. Police suspect that she was attacked with a sharp-edged weapon before her body was dumped at the spot.

Passers-by spotted the body and informed the police and a team from Lalton police post and Sadar police station reached the spot, took the body into custody and began collecting evidence. The woman was wearing a T-shirt and lower. Police have so far been unable to establish her identity and are examining CCTV footage from the surrounding area for clues.
