Ludhiana, April 4 -- The Ludhiana Commissionerate Police destroyed over 4 quintals of seized narcotics linked to 179 cases as part of its ongoing drive against drug trafficking and abuse.

The disposal was carried out under the supervision of the police department's Drug Disposal Committee, with officials following prescribed scientific procedures, including controlled incineration.

Police said the seized contraband, stored in malkhanas of various police stations, was first consolidated at a designated site and destroyed after due verification.
