India, Sept. 9 -- LIV Golf has filed for bankruptcy protection in a New Jersey court, according to a report by the Financial Times. The Chapter 11 filing in the District of New Jersey lists liabilities ranging between $500 million and $1 billion.

Several of the league's biggest stars, including Jon Rahm, Bryson DeChambeau, Dustin Johnson and Cameron Smith, are reportedly among those owed millions. Nine professional golfers are listed among the company's 10 largest unsecured creditors.

The filing shows individual player claims ranging from $2 million to $7.4 million.
