PRAYAGRAJ, April 2 -- A male leopard was killed in a road accident late Wednesday night in the Manda area of Prayagraj's trans-Yamuna region after being hit by a speeding truck on National Highway 76 near Dighiya Bazaar.

According to reports, the leopard came onto the highway from the direction of a nearby railway track and was trying to cross the road when a speeding truck heading toward Mirzapur hit the animal around 12:40 am. The impact was severe, leading to the leopard's death on the spot, officials said.
