India, Jan. 9 -- The Leela Palace Udaipur owner, Schloss Udaipur Private Limited, has been held liable for gross deficiency in service and breach of a guest's right to privacy by the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Chennai (North).

In the SN v. Schloss Udaipur Private Limited case that was disposed of on December 16, 2025, the commission directed the hotel to pay Rs.10 lakh as compensation to the complainant, along with Rs.10,000 toward litigation costs and full room tariff with nine percent annual interest from January 26, 2025, until the amount is realised.
