LUCKNOW, Aug. 13 -- The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has drawn up a list of around 50 properties across the state capital for enforcement action, with demolition proceedings likely to begin from September. These buildings allegedly violate sanctioned maps and land-use norms.

The move follows the June 22 fire at an illegal commercial complex in Aliganj's Sector D that killed 15 people and injured nine. The tragedy has pushed the LDA to accelerate action against buildings where commercial activities are allegedly being carried out in violation of approved maps, including properties built on land meant for residential use.
