BENGALURU, Sept. 4 -- The Karnataka government has suspended IAS officer Gyanendra Kumar Gangwar after his arrest in a corruption case related to the recruitment conducted by the Karnataka Public Service Commission, with officials claiming that he played a key role in manipulating the process. The suspension follows investigations by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the Directorate of Enforcement. He was arrested on August 29. However, officials aware of the matter said Gangwar will receive a subsistence allowance under Rule 4 of the All India Service (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1969, during his suspension.
