Kharge demands social security for farmers
New Delhi, Sept. 3 -- Emphasising that the Congress is forever committed to rural India, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge demanded social security for farmers, rural and tribal families to ensure that these communities become partners in India's development.
Conferring the YS Rajasekhara Reddy Awards to MS Swaminathan Research Foundation, Kharge said, "Our rural communities do not need to be remembered only when there is a drought, a flood, a crop failure or an election. They deserve a development model that gives them security before the crisis arrives."
