New Delhi, Aug. 7 -- The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested a key suspect in the 2022 murder of Karnataka BJP leader Praveen Nettaru, the agency said on Thursday. Ummar Farook MR, who had been absconding and had an Interpol red notice against him, was caught from Kochi on Wednesday following a targeted operation based on credible intelligence inputs, NIA said. The federal agency had already charged Farook for conspiring to kill Nettaru. Nettaru, BJP Yuva Morcha's Dakshina Kannada district secretary, was hacked to death with sharp weapons in a brutal attack on July 26, 2022, by members of the banned Popular Front of India (PFI). HTC
