India, June 5 -- An Indian expat was allegedly killed in the UAE's Sharjah in broad daylight over a social media spat. According to reports, the man identified as Ismail Ponnan Ibrahim Kutty was in a social media dispute that escalated.

The 40-year-old expat, who hailed from Kerala and worked at a bakery in the UAE, was active on social media, according to Gulf News. During a live stream on TikTok, he engaged in a verbal war with other users.

The social media argument, however, spilt into a face-to-face confrontation in which a group of suspects attacked, stabbed and killed Kutty.
