India, Aug. 6 -- Amid growing concerns over large-scale layoffs in the tech industry, Karnataka IT Minister Priyank Kharge on Tuesday said the state government is in active discussions with companies to assess how artificial intelligence (AI) is affecting workforce trends. The findings of this evaluation are expected to be finalised within a month, he added.

Speaking on the sidelines of an event hosted by SAP Labs India, Kharge said the state is conducting a survey with IT firms to understand how job roles are being reshaped due to AI, and what can be done to enhance the employability of Karnataka's tech talent.
