Karnal, Aug. 22 -- Former Haryana deputy chief minister Dushyant Chautala on Friday questioned the Karnal double encounter and termed it as an act of extreme police brutality.

Chautala, who arrived in Karnal to pay condolences on the death of former nominated councillor and district JJP president Amandeep Singh Chawla, targeted the state government over the law and order situation and the sanitation workers' strike.

When asked about the disrupted social harmony after a murder followed by two deaths in a police encounter, the JJP leader said,"Three men were killed in this.
