K'taka forms S.I.T. to probe land encroachment by 'Art of Living'
BENGALURU, July 22 -- The Karnataka government has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe allegations that the Art of Living Foundation and organisations linked to it encroached on hundreds of acres of government land beyond the area legally leased to them in Bengaluru South taluk.
The Revenue Department, in an order issued on Tuesday, said an October 2025 survey had "prima facie revealed" that trustees of the Art of Living Foundation, along with certain other individuals, had "systematically, directly and indirectly encroached upon more than 290 acres of government gomala land" through lease arrangements, agreements with land grantees and "allegedly doubtful grant documents".
