New Delhi, Aug. 6 -- India's services sector lost further momentum in July, expanding at the slowest pace in nearly four-and-a-half years as weaker demand, intense competition and order postponements weighed on activity, according to the HSBC India Services Purchasing Managers' Index released by S&P Global on Wednesday. The seasonally adjusted Services PMI Business Activity Index fell sharply to 53.3 in July from 57.4 in June and 59.8 in May, marking the weakest rate of expansion in 53 months. A reading above 50 indicates an increase in activity from the previous month, while one below 50 signals contraction.
