Multiple studies and research have shown that it plays an important role in blocking ultraviolet (UV) radiation from being absorbed by the skin, as the radiation damages the skin and can lead to sunburns and skin cancer.

However, despite this, many influencers and online experts claim that it is toxic and has chemicals that can harm our skin.
