India, April 3 -- The Gautam Budh Nagar administration will launch a village-level compensation drive starting Friday by organising special camps for the farmers affected by land acquisition for expansion of the Noida International Airport at Jewar, officials said on Thursday.
To be held on a daily basis, these camps will be set up across 14 villages in Jewar tehsil to facilitate the distribution of compensation related to nearly 1,838 hectares of acquired and adjudicated land under phase 2 and phase 3 of the airport project, officials said.
The move aims to expedite the compensation process, reducing the affected farmers' visits to government offices, they added.
