RANCHI, May 5 -- The Jharkhand High Court on Monday issued a fresh directive in the high-stakes investigation of an 18-year-old girl missing from Bokaro since July 2025. A division bench of Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad and Justice Sanjay Prasad ordered that DNA samples from the parents of the girl be collected this Wednesday, May 6, at AIIMS Deoghar.
The move aims to resolve growing skepticism regarding a recovered skeleton that police claimed to be that of the victim's.The court took a stern view of the procedural lag, noting that DNA testing had not been completed despite a prior order issued on April 17.
