India, Nov. 3 -- The Special Investigation Team (SIT), probing industrialist R Veeramani's alleged sexual assaults on girls over the years, has arrested a security guard for abetment, taking the number of people held in the matter so far to nine.

People aware of the matter said Srinivasan, the guard, would allegedly make girls wait in his room before sending them to Veeramani whenever he wanted them. Srinivasan allegedly altered the angles of CCTV cameras to prevent the entry and exit of the girls from Veeramani's residence from being recorded. He would also disconnect the electricity supply in such situations.

Srinivasan's mobile phone was seized and sent for forensic analysis after searches at his residence in Chennai's Ennore. He was...
