India, July 17 -- Indore has won the title of "India's cleanest city" for the eighth consecutive year in the Swachh Survekshan Awards.

In the government's annual cleanliness survey, the city in Madhya Pradesh was followed by Surat and Navi Mumbai in second and third place, respectively.

The winners of the Swachh Survekshan 2024-25 awards were announced on Tuesday. President Droupadi Murmu presented the awards to the winners at an event in New Delhi on Thursday. Vijay

Noida emerged the cleanest city among those with a population of 3-10 lakh, followed by Chandigarh and Mysore.

Last year, Indore and Surat were jointly declared as the cleanest cities in India. Navi Mumbai retained its third position.
