IndiGo to end Norse Atlantic lease, discontinue wide-body operations
New Delhi, Aug. 1 -- India's largest airline, IndiGo, announced on Friday that it will discontinue its wide-body operations effective October 25, 2026, and end its damp lease agreement-an arrangement where the lessor provides the aircraft, flight crew, and maintenance - with Norse Atlantic Airways effective October 31, 2026, citing geopolitical challenges.
The carrier had entered into the agreement with Norse Atlantic Airways for six Boeing 787-9 aircraft in early 2025 to start limited long-haul operations, fast-track learning, develop capabilities, and establish a brand presence ahead of its Airbus A350 operations.
