India rejects Starlink allegations even as Musk escalates attack
New Delhi, Oct. 9 -- The government on Thursday rejected Elon Musk's allegation that Starlink was being "blocked by certain oligarchs" in India, saying the country's regulatory framework for satellite communication services was "fair and non-discriminatory". Hours later, the SpaceX founder and CEO escalated his attack, questioning whether Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani was "the real boss of India", while Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi joined the exchange.
In a post on X, Musk said Starlink was licensed in more than 165 countries and had spent five years complying with Indian laws and government requirements.
"So why still no license?" he asked. "Is Ambani the real boss of India?" he added.
