India, US discuss defence, energy cooperation amid West Asia conflict
New Delhi, May 24 -- India and the US on Sunday took further steps to set aside the rancour and strains that characterised bilateral relations over the past year, with external affairs minister S Jaishankar and his counterpart Marco Rubio discussing ways to take forward cooperation in defence, energy, technology, critical minerals and the situation in West Asia.
Jaishankar and Rubio met for bilateral talks at Hyderabad House a day after the US secretary of state arrived in India for a four-day visit that will also see him participating in a Quad foreign ministers' meeting on May 26 that is expected to focus on the Indo-Pacific.
