New Delhi, Oct. 11 -- Senior bureaucrat Prakash Rajpurohit was appointed Deputy Election Commissioner in a major reshuffle of civil servants by the Centre on Saturday. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved appointments of 27 IAS, IRS and other senior officers at joint secretary and equivalent levels. Rajpurohit, a 2010-batch IAS officer from the Rajasthan cadre, has been appointed to the post at the Election Commission of India (ECI) for a tenure up to April 8, 2030. He had been serving as the Joint Secretary in the Department of Defence Production and earlier posted as Director in the Department of Economic Affairs.
