India, Aug. 12 -- The Gurugram and Faridabad police on Tuesday announced restrictions on the movement of heavy vehicles towards Delhi ahead of Independence Day celebrations, with curbs to remain in force during the full dress rehearsal and the main celebrations.

In Gurugram, heavy vehicles will not be allowed to enter Delhi through NH-48 from 5pm on August 12 to 1.30pm on August 13 for the full dress rehearsal. The restriction will be imposed again from 5pm on August 14 to 1.30pm on August 15 for the Independence Day celebrations, DCP Traffic Prateek Gehlot said.
