India, Aug. 9 -- The Haryana State Pollution Control Board (HSPCB) has sealed 48 unauthorised ready-mix concrete (RMC) plants in Gurugram, dismantled 20 and recovered over Rs.1.57 crore in environmental compensation during its enforcement drive in June and July, officials said.

Of the 48 sealed units, 20 have been completely dismantled and two partially dismantled. Closure has been recommended for three units, while one has been served a show-cause notice, officials aware of the crack down added.

Akansha Tanwar, regional officer, HSPCB-North, Gurugram, said Rs.1,57,07,063 had been recovered, with proceedings for the remaining amount underway.
