India, Aug. 14 -- Jessica Bang, 18-year-old rookie professional golfer from Australia, passed away in a hospital in Thailand on Thursday, as per the WPGA Tour of Australasia.

On August 1, Bang collapsed while training in Thailand for an upcoming tournament and was subsequently taken to a hospital in Bangkok, where she received emergency brain surgery.

Following her demise, the WPGA Tour of Australasia issued a statement, saying: "(The) Australian golf community is deeply saddened by the passing of young tour member Jessica Bang in Thailand."

"Jessica was an outstanding young talent who made a significant impression in her short time on the tour."
