Shimla, Oct. 8 -- Chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Wednesday said 1,500 new e-buses would soon be inducted into the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) fleet, while the state government was also considering introducing hydrogen-powered buses.

Sukhu directed that the new buses should have a minimum range of 350 km and be suitable for the state's hilly terrain.

"297 e-buses are already part of the HRTC fleet. The state government is also considering introducing hydrogen-powered buses. Soon, 100 green hydrogen buses and 100 super deluxe buses would also be procured," he said.
