New Delhi, June 5 -- Sports Authority of India's (SAI) existing Sports Training Centre in Shillong is set to be upgraded to a High Altitude Training Centre (HATC), sports ministry sources said on Thursday. Although the timeline of the project hasn't been set yet, the exercise will be undertaken at the cost of Rs.150 crore, to be funded by National Stock Exchange (NSE) through their CSR programme. Once completed, the HATC will be the third such facility in India. As of now, SAI campuses in Shilaroo, Himachal Pradesh and Ooty in Tamil Nadu serve as the only HATCs.
