India, Aug. 23 -- A woman was killed and a suspect is dead following a shooting inside of a northwest Indiana antique shop Saturday night, August 22, NBC Chicago reported. A press release stated that Lake County police and the Indiana State Police were called to an antiques shop located in the 2900 block of West 181st Avenue in Hebron shortly after 7 pm.

The Lake County Sheriff's Department said that a man allegedly shot a woman dead inside the location, and also shot and injured a 24-year-old woman who was trying to flee the scene. The suspect is believed to have later died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at the scene.

The wounded woman's condition has since been stabilized at a local hospital, authorities said.
