RANCHI, July 15 -- The Jharkhand High Court on Tuesday upheld the trial court's order sentencing two people to life imprisonment in the 2021 Dhanbad judge Uttam Anand murder case, calling the intentional hit-and-run a planned attack on the judiciary. The judgment was delivered by a division bench of justice Rongon Mukhopadhyay and justice Pradeep Kumar Srivastava. On July 28, 2021, around 5am, an auto-rickshaw swerved and hit judge Uttam Anand from behind while he was out for a walk near Randhir Verma Chowk in Dhanbad.
