hc refuses to give relief to cong on former hq plea
New Delhi, May 15 -- The Delhi high court on Thursday refused to immediately restrain the Centre and the Delhi government's Land and Building Department from allotting Congress's former headquarters at 7, Jantar Mantar Road to a third party while hearing a plea filed by the party seeking execution of the property's sale deed in its favour.
Even as senior advocate Abhishek Singhvi, appearing for All India Congress Committee, urged the court to pass an interim order to ensure that the premises is not allotted to someone else in the meantime, a bench of justice Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav declined to grant interim relief and questioned the maintainability of the writ petition.
