Lucknow, Oct. 29 -- The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court has sought an explanation from the Uttar Pradesh State Election Commission authorities over the omission of 138 Amethi residents' names from the final voter list, despite their inclusion in the draft electoral roll and without notice to the persons concerned. A single judge bench of justice Jaspreet Singh sought the response on October 16 while hearing a plea filed by the 138 affected residents. They said their names were included in the electoral list for approximately a decade and were also present in the draft list.
