HC questions Centre on delay over same-sex medical rights
New Delhi, Aug. 21 -- The Delhi High Court on Thursday questioned the Centre over its delay in responding to a plea seeking recognition of same-sex partners as medical representatives who can make decisions for each other during medical emergencies.
A bench of Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma observed that recognition of live-in relationships should be accompanied by corresponding rights, including in medical situations.
