HC notice over Tahir Hussain's plea challenging life term
New Delhi, Sept. 3 -- The Delhi High Court on Wednesday issued notice on former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) councillor Tahir Hussain's petition challenging his conviction and life sentence for the murder of Intelligence Bureau (IB) official Ankit Sharma during the 2020 Delhi riots.
A bench of justices Prathiba M Singh and Vikas Mahajan sought the Delhi Police's response and fixed December 2 for the next hearing. The court will also hear appeals filed by two other convicts, Nazim and Kasim, on the same day.
Delhi Police was represented by special public prosecutor (SPP) Rajat Nair and advocate Dhruv Pande.
