HC disposes of ART age-limit plea
India, July 20 -- The Bombay High Court has disposed of petitions challenging the age restriction for women undergoing procedures under the Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) Act after medical evaluations found both petitioners unfit to undergo in-vitro fertilisation (IVF).
The two women, aged 53 and 55, had approached the court seeking medical evaluation to determine their eligibility for IVF while keeping their constitutional challenge to the law pending. Both fall under the category of advanced maternal age.
