HC asks govt to relocate kin of hathras victim
Lucknow, Aug. 26 -- The Allahabad High Court has directed the Uttar Pradesh government to rehabilitate and relocate the family of the Hathras gang-rape victim in Ghaziabad or Noida within three months, while expressing strong displeasure over the government's non-compliance of its earlier directions.
A bench of justices Rajan Roy and Jaspreet Singh on Monday further directed that once the rehabilitation is completed, employment should also be provided to one family member, as directed in its July 26, 2022 order. The court also directed the additional chief secretary (home) to file a compliance affidavit and in case of non-compliance, he will have to appear personally before it on November 30.
