Hauz Rani fire: accountant arrested, BAIL DENIED TO Chef
NEW DELHI, June 9 -- A Delhi court on Monday denied bail to Keshav Negi, the chef arrested in connection with the fire at the Flourish Stay bed-and-breakfast facility in Hauz Rani that killed 22 people last week, even as police arrested the property's accountant, Jay Mishra, after he surrendered before a court.
Judicial magistrate first class Bhanu Pratap Singh of Saket courts held that Negi had shown "gross negligence" by allegedly failing to alert guests or authorities after the fire broke out in the kitchen and by prioritising his own escape. The court sent him to 14 days' judicial custody.
