Haryana to bring Bills to do away with trade licence for meat shops, slaughterhouses
Chandigarh, Aug. 22 -- The Haryana government will introduce two Bills in the upcoming assembly session to do away with the requirement of a municipal trade licence for meat shops and slaughterhouses.
Officials said these establishments are already regulated by the food and drugs administration (FDA) department. The move aims to eliminate duplication in the licensing process, reduce regulatory burden on businesses and promote ease of doing business, they said.
The council of ministers had in June approved promulgation of Haryana Municipal Corporation (amendment) Ordinance, and Haryana Municipal Act ordinance for removal of provisions relating to dual licensing in compliance with the directions of Central government's deregulation cell. ...
