India, March 17 -- Haryana Rajya Sabha election on Monday concluded with the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) winning one seat each in as the counting of votes for the contest ended past midnight.
BJP's Sanjay Bhatia and Karamvir Boudh of the Congress were declared winners by the returning officer.
The valid votes were reduced from 90 to 88 after the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD), which has two legislators, abstained from voting. Further, on a complaint by the BJP over "violation of voting secrecy", the Election Commission declared one vote - of Congress MLA Paramvir Singh - invalid.
