India, Aug. 3 -- A large number of forest department workers from across Haryana on Sunday staged a protest outside Haryana minister for environment, forest and wildlife Rao Narbir Singh's residence in Gurugram's Civil Lines, demanding regularisation of services, a minimum monthly wage of Rs.26,000 and restoration of the muster roll system.

Organised by the Forest Department Workers' Union, Haryana, affiliated to the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU), the protest began with a gathering at Kamla Nehru Park before workers marched to the minister's residence carrying placards and raising slogans. Police stopped the protesters outside the residence using barricades.
