Haryana finalises ANPR tender for 2,478 petrol pumps across NCR districts
India, Aug. 13 -- The Haryana transport department is finalising a tender to select an agency for installing automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) camerasat 2,478petrol pumps across 14 NCR districts in the state, with the process expected to be completed by next week, officials said on Wednesday.
The move follows directions issued by the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) in May to restrict fuel use for vehicles that fail to comply with pollution control norms, officials added.
Under the directions, the ANPR system must integrate with VAHAN and pollution under control certificate (PUCC) databases by end of September. From October 1, no fuel will be dispensed at NCR fuel stations to vehicles without a valid PUCC.
