Haryana: Over rRs.r10-cr recovered, 489 cases settled, says enforcement bureau in drive against power theft
Chandigarh, Aug. 24 -- Haryana State Enforcement Bureau (HSEB) on Sunday said that during a drive to settle power theft cases Rs.10.3 crore was recovered and 489 power theft cases were disposed of.
The state enforcement bureau set up in 2023 is a specialised wing of Haryana Police that deals with illegalities such as power theft, environmental violations, and illegal mining.
The month-long special drive launched on July 17 against power theft resulted in the highest recovery of Rs.3.04 crore in Gurugram where 115 cases were also disposed of.
According to the director general of police (DGP-HSEB) Navdeep Singh Virk, the objective of the drive was to ensure speedy disposal of power theft cases and effective recovery of government revenue...
