Harivansh likely to be elected unopposed as RS dy chairman
New Delhi, April 17 -- Harivansh, who was nominated by President Droupadi Murmu to the Rajya Sabha on April 10, is set to be elected unopposed as deputy chairperson of the Upper House for a third term.
People aware of the developments said no nominations have been received from the Opposition for the post, giving Harivansh a walkover. The Rajya Sabha secretariat has received five notices of motions proposing Harivansh's name. These were given by Leader of the House JP Nadda , BJP president Nitin Nabin, finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman, JD(U) working president Sanjay Jha and Union minister Jayant Chaudhary.
